But when it's your event on the line, the reason doesn't matter as much as what you do next. With a little backup planning done in advance, you can handle these situations without losing your evening, or your peace of mind.

1. Keep 2-3 backup vendors for every important service

Never put all your trust in one vendor, no matter how good they are. For major services like the venue, catering, photography, and decoration, always have one or two backup vendors in mind. You may never need them, but knowing they're there takes half the stress off your shoulders.
